Latest News – 25th November 2018

Many will be aware that recently, we advertised expressions of interest for our coaches for 2019, with the intent of not just finalising all coaching positions, however in particular State League.

The club wishes to advise that Eric Jenney has completed his role as State League coach.
We thank Eric for his contribution to the club, and are extremely grateful for the manner in which he not only coached our State League team, but the way he recognised our younger players who trained with the senior group.
Eric applied for the role for Season 2017 at a time when we were just not sure where our next coach was coming from, and had a vision and belief in the group we had available.
At the start of 2018, some adjustments were needed with many players having a gap year, however led by Eric, the group finished outside of the finals by only the smallest of percentages.
There is no doubt Eric had the team super fit.
Eric will always be welcome at the club and we thank him for all he did in 2017 / 2018.

After reviewing applications for season 2019, we wish to advise the following:
Chris Baker and Glenn Meredith have been appointed as Co coaches for State League for Season 2019 and beyond.
Chris (played for Canada) and Glenn (played for Australia and current Australian coach), both have extensive lacrosse experience both as players and in coaching capacities at club, state and international levels. Additionally, both have strong connections to the Malvern Lacrosse Club.
After a few years away from Malvern, Glenn is truly excited to be back as a co coach of our State League team. This appointment provides the club stability in this position for the next few years.

With thanks,

Malvern Lacrosse Committee
